I read a couple of novels in August that were set in Italy and have become enamored with the country (and its FOOD). So this month's LOOTM is an Italian WWII Fighter that resembles a racer.

The Ambrosini SAI 207 was a wooden aircraft with clean, simple lines and a long engine cowling. Though it could be considered underpowered compared to other fighter aircraft of the early 40's, it was well armed with two machine guns and two canon.
